Query Domain is the correct endpoint to identify domain availability, and providing further info like premium domain check, domain price and etc.

The Universal WHOIS endpoint is transitioning to a best-effort service as the RDDS via WHOIS protocol is phased out.

bypass token

considered the context that not able to produce JWT token, you can provide rescode as part of the request parameter to bypass token.

Do take note you still need an IP added to your account allowed IP list as 2nd Factor Authentication.

Effective 4 August 2025, the WHOIS protocol will no longer be supported for the following domain extensions. This change is made in accordance with the 2023 Global Amendments to the Base gTLD Registry Agreement, which set out the plan to phase out Registration Data Directory Services (RDDS) provided via the WHOIS protocol.
